Open data is publicly available information in specific open file formats and their purpose is to be used further. They are an important source of information for all citizens, public administration, corporations, small and medium enterprises, scientific research and educational institutions, civil society organizations, the media and all other interested groups. Open data contribute to the transparency of public administration, have an impact on the development of innovative products and services for citizens and businesses, and provide tools for alternative decision-making in the field of management, planning and science.
With the Swiss PRO Programme support to local self-governments, the local institutional frameworks for the opening of data and determining priority areas for data opening have been improved, capacity building of LSG staff has been conducted, and a mechanism for updating and managing open data has been established.
With an aim to raise public awareness of the available eServices and the advantages of using open data, the Swiss PRO organised a campaign under the slogan “Let’s Click Together!”.
One of the main goals of the campaign is to increase the use of open data, and in order to inform as many people as possible, a video on available open data of local governments was created, as well as a short video tutorial on how to access open data of local governments. These videos were broadcasted on local TV stations, together with versions on minority languages, and advertised on social media as well.
Visit the website data.gov.rs and without creating an individual user account, research the data sets of interest to you or examples of use, because open data is a public good available to everyone.
