Start of the Regional Training on the Topic "Cooperation with CSOs and Financing of Programs of Public Interest Implemented by Associations"

As part of the Swiss PRO Programme, in the period from May 9 to June 14, 2019, the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM) in partnership with the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society organizes seven regional two-day trainings for local self-government employees on the topic cooperation with civil society organizations and financing of programs of public interest that are implemented by the associations.

Regional trainings are implemented as an accredited program within the Sectoral Program of Continuous Professional Development of Employees in Local Self-Government Units for 2019, which is part of the General Training Program for LSGs Employees for 2019, approved by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The aim of this training is to train participants to improve the cooperation of LGUs with civil society organizations (CSOs), especially in decision-making processes and implementation of public services and adequate implementation of procedures for financing programs of public interest implemented by associations.

The trainings will be held at the following locations:

  • Subotica - on Thursday and Friday, May 9 and 10;
  • Zlatibor - on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21 and 22;
  • Vrnjačka Spa - on Thursday and Friday, May 23 and 24;
  • Belgrade - on Thursday and Friday, May 30 and 31;
  • Novi Sad - on Thursday and Friday, June 6 and 7;
  • Nis - on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12; and
  • Kragujevac - on Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14.

This activity is organised by SCTM within the “Enhancing Good Governance at Local Level” project, supported by the Swiss Government through the programme “Enhancing Good Governance and Social Inclusion for Municipal Development – Swiss PRO” implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
