Residents of 35 cities and municipalities will soon have to waste less time in queues and spend less money. In addition to the existing e-Baby and e-Kindergarten services, they will be able to access a number of new e-services within the jurisdiction of their local self-governments, including applying for maternity pay, coverage of artificial insemination costs and site information. They will also be able to report communal problems and submit petitions to the communal, traffic and environmental inspectorates online, without having to call up the local government offices or visit them in person.

“With a view to improving the efficiency of local administrations, the Swiss Government has supported local self-governments across Serbia in building their e-Government capacities and facilitating the citizens’ access to specific rights and services within the remit of the local administrations. It has provided financial and technical support to the implementation of activities involving the establishment or improvement of e-Registry and e-Archives, electronic data exchange system, and systems for increasing civic participation, via e-Participation and e-Debate,” said Swiss PRO National Programme Manager Ana Nedeljković Belja. 

In order to raise public awareness of the available e-services and benefits of open data, Swiss PRO will organise one-day promotions on city squares in Šumadija and Western, Eastern and Southern Serbia and a campaign on social and other media over the next six months. A competition will also be organised to further encourage local self-governments and the citizens to use the available e-services more frequently.

Improved e-services will be available to residents of Aleksandrovac, Babušnica, Bela Palanka, Bojnik, Bor, Čačak, Ćuprija, Dimitrovgrad, Golubac, Ivanjica, Jagodina, Kosjerić, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Krupanj, Loznica, Mali Zvornik, Medveđa, Nova Varoš, Novi Pazar, Osečina, Rača, Ražanj, Rekovac, Šabac, Smederevska Palanka, Sokobanja, Surdulica, Svilajnac, Tutin, Vladimirac, Vlasotince, Vrnjačka Banja, Žagubica and Zaječar.

Access to open data has been improved by local self-governments in Aleksinac, Aranđelovac, Arilje, Bujanovac, Despotovac, Gornji Milanovac, Knjaževac, Kruševac, Kuršumlija, Lajkovac, Lebane, Leskovac, Lučani, Mionica, Negotin, Niš, Paraćin, Petrovac na Mlavi, Požarevac, Priboj, Prokuplje, Raška, Sjenica, Smederevo, Topola, Trstenik, Užice, Valjevo, Velika Plana, Veliko Gradište.

The campaign “Let’s Click Together” is a part of the Programme “Enhancing Good Governance and Social Inclusion for Municipal Development – Swiss PRO“, supported by the Government of Switzerland in cooperation with the Government of Serbia, and implemented by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in partnership with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities (SCTM).
